Question by km: How do I make my prelit Christmas tree lights blink?
I have a Philips Stanton prelit 9ft Christmas tree. Bought it 2 yrs ago but never used it. This year I discovered the lights on the tree don't blink (and they weren't supposed to). All the lights work just fine, but I want them to twinkle, blink, whatever. I don't want to add more lights- that's why I bought a PRELIT tree. How can I change the lights already there? Can I buy those red topped blinking lights seperately?

If blinking is an option, somewhere in the cord should be a little box or something that lets you change the settings. May be hidden towards the bottom of the tree somewhere. It doesn't have anything to do with the lights that are on the tree already. You need a control that will make them blink.
